You cannot know God until you’ve stopped telling yourself that you already know God. You cannot hear God until you stop thinking that you’ve already heard God. I cannot tell you My Truth until you stop telling Me yours.

Of the Dream
In This Moment
"In this moment, I will love rather than judge.
In this moment, I will build rather than destroy.
In this moment, I will look to God, rather than to other people, for approval and direction.
In this moment, I will change because I want to, not because I need to.
In this moment, I will realize my power, rather than blame other people for their actions.
In this moment, I will experience the joy of God's plan, rather than the pain of my plan.
In this moment, I will see the possibilities, rather than the difficulties.
In this moment, I will serve others, rather than serve myself.
In this moment, there is Heaven on Earth."

Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor
imagination nor both together go to the

You Shall Also~
Listen to the words of those who have lived before you;
but do not believe every syllable, for they were not gods;
weigh them on the scale of truth.
Know that life is truly as precious as you believe it is.
Walk with a straight back and solid steps.
Treat every woman with the honesty, honor, respect, kindness and integrity
as you would want shown to your own daughter,
and to your father,
and to yourself.
Give every woman the truth, and only honest women will remain,
and your love will be pure, and your sleep will be peaceful.
Treat every man with the honesty, honor, respect, kindness and integrity
as you would want shown to your own son,
and to your mother,
and to yourself.
Give every man the truth, and only honest men will remain,
and your love will be pure, and your sleep will be peaceful.
Show every person the respect you show the person you admire most,
not according to your personal assessment of them.
What they do after that is up to them.
Recognize that every person is just as alive and real as you.
Recognize that you are just as alive and real as every other person.
Breathe this precious air, drink this precious water,
taste this precious fruit, walk on this precious Earth,
feel your precious heart in your chest.
Think of the precious heart in those who you care for.
Let your small actions contribute to the betterment of life,
not to degradation.
Laugh loud and often.
Love with gratitude and honor.
Seek humility to find peace.

Walking Into The Sun
Either I will be filled with exultation or I will be burned to a cinder; either way it is my own. Leave me be unless you are interested in actually being a real friend to me. You think you can know me without even knowing where I have been or what I have seen; you think you can know me by your own judgment; who or what do you think you are? I am vast as the universe. Like you. For you to be able to know me, judge me, you would have to first know every cell of my body, every moment of my life from conception to this moment, every facet of my soul and my destiny~ and then you would have to be able to factor all of it together as a gigantic equation, and an epic saga. The human mind can barely grasp a short novel to make a short report on it for school, how is it that you think that same mind can grasp and summarize a human being?
Do Men Only Want What They Can't Have?
Miss Attitude runs a pretty cool blog, clean, to the point, makes for easy reading. Click here for her post on this sensitive subject: What Men Want
My thoughts on it are this: both sexes do this, but men do it more. I know women who fixate on one guy who is "emotionally unavailable", and they will ride that horse until it drops. But I know more men who chase more than one woman at a time who are unavailable, and when one of the women finally turns around and says "Okay, okay, you've caught up with me, I'll go out with you~" the boy acts like she was chasing HIM. What is the reason? "Boys will be boys" is not a reason, it's an excuse. I know plenty of men who don't do this, and all of them seem to have one thing in common; women are people to them, just as much as men. They don't have gender prejudices, they don't think of women as a subspecies or vice versa.
If a kid is raised on TV and movies, and people around him are always pointing to women on TV or on posters or albums as unattainable by "regular people", like they are some other kind of human that a man can only catch if he attains a high level of success, then a boy could easily be conditioned to equate success with attaining an unattainable woman, a movie star, a beauty queen. If he can attain her, then she can't be the one he wants, because the one that will indicate success is unattainable. These boys could chase any female superstar on the planet, and as soon as she stopped running and he was able to catch her, he would at first be ecstatic, and then he would start to feel like he has stagnated in his life. He is now with an attainable woman, and that does not indicate success; only the women he must quest after have any value... He honestly doesn't know how to love a real person, or to be loved by a real person.
It is the locked door vs the open door. Some minds believe there is only treasure behind locked doors, and that open doors don't lead to anything really valuable.
Me~ I have held the keys to, and broken into, quite a few locked, bolted, chained doors, scaled electric fences and jumped spikes and barbed wire. I have met, spent time with, been related to, and known intimately people from all over the world, many walks of life, and every economic class. I have never found anything more valuable in those vaulted rooms, or met anyone greater or more beautiful than the souls I was already blessed to know. I am grateful that I am not one of those who seeks only what they can't have, or believes that whoever loves me could not be anyone worth noting. I am quite confident that I already know or have known the greatest souls that have every lived, and each new friend seems to already be a member of that club.

"We are a street band of brass, reeds and percussion from Providence RI.
MISSION/VALUE STATEMENT
We welcome musicians from all backgrounds and all levels of ability to join us.
We play in support of select causes and events in an attempt to draw community attention to them.
We help each other to grow in musicianship.
We play free, guerrilla style and in the streets whenever possible and try to uplift everyone within earshot.
We believe that the power of music may be be more effective and powerful than weapons, arguments or war.
We build community and share our love of music with each other and with our audiences.
We interrupt your regularly-scheduled life with spontaneous moments of raucous musical joy.
We encourage musical expression by playing with, and for, people of all levels of musical experience.
We contribute to making the experience of saving the world a bit more fun and weird.
We believe that any note is better than no note.
We celebrate the heritage and joy of marching/roving band shows and their rich, diverse history.
We hold each other to a standard of reliability regarding attendance at practices and shows.
We operate as a democracy, sharing responsibilities and decisions.
We value silliness, gratuitous antics and pure fun for its own sake as much as (if not more than) musical skill.
Range of Music:
As the history and present state of brass, drum, marching, and roving bands shows, they are part of a rich and diverse history of styles, influences, cultures, and purposes. We hope to play songs that celebrate those histories, while having a great time playing together and with our audiences.

Self doubt is my nemesis, it allows others to knock me off of my way. Only those who are insecure and fearful focus on dominating, competing and undermining others. My self doubt gives them an opportunity to be successful. They are not focused on their own path if they are focused on dominating others. I don't have enough time left to waste it in competition. There is too much I want to do.

Dreams
An interesting discussion with a friend stirred more speculation on the nature of dreams. What are they, what causes them, are they one thing, or many?
In 1986, I woke from a dream that made a profound impression on me. Upon waking I had the feeling that I was a witness to a page in my own book, like a time traveler watching a moment from their own life. The dream had nothing familiar in it except for myself, it was not related to a previous experience. So I carried the mystery around for a little while, wondering if I would ever find out what it was about; I didn't assume anything. Only later did I come to an idea of what it might have represented, but I don't know for sure.
At the time of the dream, April 1986, I did not have a driver's license. So a driving dream was not a regular occurrence, in fact I don't recall ever having a driving dream before this one.
It was a magnificent day, the sun was golden, the trees were gorgeous, tall and green, and the air was infused with the fragrance of summer. I was in the drivers seat of a red Volkswagen Beetle, I am not sure of the year, but it was an older one. I was driving for a while, down a country road, enraptured in the beauty of the day. One thing was strange, however; I was not in New England. I was somewhere else, somewhere further South, somewhere I had never been. Not the deep South, and not Pennsylvania. A place where there were still miles of undeveloped country, and rivers and lakes. My hair was long and blond, as it was at the time, and I was beginning to feel a bit heated from the sun on my head. Then something began to change; slowly I felt myself moving from myself. I don't have the words to describe it properly. I was moving from the driver's seat into the passenger seat, but I was still in the driver's seat. As if I were split into two beings. Two physical manifestations of my Self. I did not initiate it, it was something that just happened, in the dream. I could feel the transformation happen. It was not physically painful, but it did feel like a separation. Then I was in the passenger seat, and the person driving was, for lack of a better description, a male opposite of me. His hair was long and blond as well, sun bleached, and he had darker eyelashes and eyebrows. He smiled, I smiled, and all was still sunny and beautiful, the day was even more magnificent than before. All was as it should be.
"All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well." ~Julian of Norwich
And we drove down that country road until I awoke.
I'm still waiting to find out.
I do love a good mystery.
