The first test of Patriotism is respect for
other citizens, and their opinions, and their freedom to express their
opinions. If you want to shut down another person because you don't
agree with them, you're not a Patriot from THIS country. If they want to
shut you down because of your opinion, then they're not a Patriot
either. (This country being the United States of America). That is what
"FREEDOM" is. You want it for yourself, you need to respect it for other
citizens. Learn to TALK and HEAR, and HEAR and TALK. Without the monkey
aggression and domination displays and "I'M RIGHT YOU'RE WRONG" poop
throwing. That's what people DIED FOR over and over, fighting FOR individual freedom. You want to be right? So does everyone else. You think you're entitled MORE than another citizen because you're RIGHT? Then you don't get it. Their freedom is YOUR freedom. Your freedom is THEIR freedom. That's what this country is about, if you want to live in a country where only one set of beliefs is "RIGHT", then you're in the wrong place. If you want your opinion to be respected even if it's different from mine, the guy next door, the lady at work, or the President, then you're in the right place. But you have to give that respect, too.
We all do, it's how we maintain
FREEDOM.
