"Banter"
: Light hearted, humorous, often witty exchanges between two or more
people, often seen in healthy social groups. Those who harbor elitist
and cliquey agendas frequently use "Banter" as a method of bonding with
"insiders", and to humiliate those who intimidate them by refusing to
recognize or engage in "Banter" with those individuals.
This method
is also frequently used by those who wish to create a status hierarchy
in a social or family group, only engaging in "Banter" with certain
members, and purposely ignoring and dismissing "Banter" from those whom
they desire control over.
