Snubbing

The most common behavior that both humans and chimpanzees use to display domination and status is "snubbing". That is, treating a target like they are not as worthy by ignoring them, dismissing them, talking over them, condescending to them, avoiding eye contact with them, shutting them out, and not responding to them. Everyone knows what it is, and how to do it. Those with control and ego issues often use it on a regular basis, but will blame the target for their behavior. It can be a useful tool to use for behavior guidance and situation control when a person is actually causing real and actual disruption or lacks self-control. However, when Controllers learn how to use this tool, they often turn it into a weapon against anyone who they want to dominate or manipulate.
The difference between using it as a guidance tool and using it as a control weapon is quite clear.
